Human settlement on Mars will change every dynamic that we experience today. Mars’ lighter gravity and atmospheric conditions can interfere with simple functions such as oxygen levels, the feeling of hunger, emotions etc,. Therefore, in forward thinking we will need to have a communication device for ourselves to address diminished functions. Our team is developing the research on space suits to communicate with the user and surrounding community. We will accomplish our goals by collaborating the two fields of Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and wearable textiles to produce clothing for humans living on Mars. We will research and design with in the 4 parameters of: interior, exterior, stability, and psychological needs. Our initial stages are to communicate the need of oxygen for a citizen of the Mars settlement.
